Implementation Specialist

The Countsy Implementation Specialist is responsible for a range of implementation activities designed to achieve a high level of client service and satisfaction during the implementation of various accounting platform tools, utilized by the Countsy TSC.

The position is primarily responsible for system setup, system administration, and client training of the utilized suite of applications. The Implementation Specialist will also work directly with clients to assist with data file conversion. The position will require post-live support to the client during transitions to new releases of any platform tool, or when leaving the TSC.

The ideal candidate must be able to recognize the Client’s accounting needs and implement appropriate policies and procedures that are GAAP compliant. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment and decision making throughout the implementation process. Assistance may be sought from the Implementations Lead when encountering a specifically challenging system, or accounting issues.

Major Responsibilities

  • Handle several implementation projects at any given time

  • Lead all aspects of implementation – working together with Countsy CFO on implementation timing

  • Gather business requirements as necessary, review current accounting processes in place, and apply detailed working knowledge of accounting products and principles to support the client’s business, while ensuring GAAP compliance and proper internal controls

  • Recommend implementation of features or new accounting policies and procedures where appropriate

  • Create policies and procedures documentation, or training materials as necessary

  • Develop and conduct training sessions for each client where client involvement is key, so as to be fully prepared on the go-live date

  • Work with Countsy CFO to establish cost and time estimates for implementation

  • Track tasks accomplished, time spent and milestones completed

  • Communicate with client/Countsy CFO of progress throughout the implementation project life cycle

  • Create initial accounting transactions/reconciliations for first month(s) of financial reporting with each client

  • Assist TSC Accounting Team with post-live support questions when needed

  • Effectively communicate with Client, and Countsy staff to understand and document priorities and work status

  • Demonstrate commitment to client success. Become familiar with project scope and tool sets required

  • Support client and team with timely response to information requests

  • Take ownership of work and follow tasks through to completion

  • Utilize research and knowledge management channels

  • Use and administer company practices, standards, procedures, tools and methodologies

  • Effectively interact with and support other Countsy staff, management and internal staff

  • Perform all necessary administrative responsibilities in a timely manner (e.g. Timesheet and expense report submission, annual review, response to e-mail and voice-mail, forecasting of upcoming availability)

  • Comply with Countsy policies and procedures

  • Work effectively with client and Countsy staff and be positive and respectful in all interactions

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in a variety of different industries and circumstances.

  • Ability to research accounting issues, reach logical conclusions, and apply to clients’ situation.

  • Proven analytical skills

  • Excellent time-management and ability to prioritize changing tasks

  • Sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives and deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills aiding in acting as an effective team member

  • Ability to adjust to new conditions, clients, and tasks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven analysis, research, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to communicate Accounting principles and issues to other staff

  • Prior experience with multi-entity or startup clients (strongly recommended)

  • Ability to work with people of varied levels of accounting knowledge

  • Demonstrated high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel – familiar with higher formulas (i.e. pivot tables, IF statements, VLOOKUP, etc.)

  • Ability to accept responsibility for errors, propose corrective measures and ensure controls are in place for non-recurrence

  • Knowledge of Company policy, procedures and organizational structure

  • Proficiency with various softwares, ERP systems (specifically NetSuite), and Microsoft Office.

Contacts

  • Will interact directly with Client’s staff at all management levels

  • Will interact internally with Countsy CFO’s and other Countsy staff

  • Will need to interact with Client vendors and contacts as well as external support staff of various support tools when resolving platform issues

 Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience. CPA a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years as accounting professional, and (1) year with systems management/implementation. Must have prior experience in providing all account reconciliations, and some level of financial statements preparation. 

  • Experience with software is required, specific platform tool experience (NetSuite, Bill.com, ADP) is a strong plus. .

 Compensation and Benefits Information

  • Base Pay Range:  $100,000 - $120,000

    • Other Compensation: Discretionary Bonus Plan

    • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.

  • Benefits: Medical (including FSA and HSA offerings), Dental, Vision, Life insurance, Disability insurance, 401(k) savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase plan, Paid Time Off: 21 days, Eight Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).

Washington Time Off and Leave

Management and Support Roles: Employees working in the state of Washington will receive the following time off and leave benefits:*

Short-Term Disability Benefits: RGP provides eligible employees up to 12 weeks of paid leave for total and temporary disability due to illness or injury.

Maternity Leave:For pregnancy and childbirth, female employees may receive up to 8 weeks (40 days) of paid Maternity Leave.**

Parental Leave: RGP provides 2 weeks (10 days) of paid Parental Leave for the birth or adoption of a child.**

Bereavement: Up to 3 days of paid leave (additional time may be available under PFML)

Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML): The state-administered PFML fund provides qualified employees with the following maximum leave amounts per calendar year: (a) up to 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave, (b) up to 16 weeks of leave when family and medical leave are used in combination, and (c) an additional two weeks of leave due to pregnancy complications, (d) up to 7 days bereavement leave.

Jury Duty Leave: Up to 5 paid days

Military Leave: Up to 21 days of paid leave during a one-year period.
