People and Operations Manager
The Countsy People and Operations Manager role requires a collaborative, communicative, and hands-on HR professional who can manage the day-to-day HR functions for 140+ employees across Countsy. This includes responsibility for the Sacramento Technology Service Center (home base for this position) and Countsy Field employees based across California and other states.
The position requires an individual with incredible attention to detail, who can juggle multiple competing priorities. Communication across a variety of organizational levels, including our parent organization, is paramount to success in this role.
The People and Operations Manager will execute all onboarding and recruitment efforts along with the Director of Recruitment. Day-to-day Human Resource tasks also include a variety of benefits, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, compensation management, and compliance matters.
The ideal candidate will possess solid multi-tasking abilities, sound judgement, and a sense of urgency. This position reports to Head of US and Manila Technology Service Centers.
Major Responsibilities
Onboarding and offboarding (30%)
Initiate, supervise, and collaborate with corporate to run background checks for incoming candidates. Communicate background discrepancies with candidate and escalate to management if needed.
Prepare and send out offer letters and legally required notices for every new hire.
Utilize various databases/softwares for onboarding processes.
Conduct New Hire Orientation for all new hires and collaborate with Office Administrator to ensure a successful set-up for the new hire’s first day.
Walk-through general internal trainings (timecard submission, logging into Workday, etc.).
Overall, coordinate and ensure a smooth start at Countsy for all new hires.
Work with corporate HR team, Countsy management, and payroll to coordinate final paycheck, equipment return, client wrap-up, and termination documents for exiting employees.
Assist with termination discussions and documentation.
Recruitment (30%)
Attend interviews for key positions. Coach managers on questions or skills assessments to administer during hiring process.
Work with Director of Recruitment to perform full-cycle recruiting, which includes: posting jobs, interviewing, preparing offers, initiating background checks, and checking references.
Review candidate assessments and maintain a record of assessment scores to communicate to Hiring Managers.
Employee Relations and Performance (15%)
Act as back-up for all performance-related issues and concerns.
Schedule meetings, counsel managers, and document performance issues.
Back-up on 90 Day Reviews for employees.
General Policies and Compliance (5%)
Act as resource for employees with regards to compliance and policy questions.
Revise, disperse and audit policies annually and when a new hire starts.
HRIS/Software (5%)
Maintain accurate and compliant digital files for all Countsy employees.
Conduct file audits as necessary.
Utilize various HRIS for onboarding and offboarding processes, and daily record keeping.
Run reports in Workday as requested.
Other HR and Office Support (10%)
Plan and execute team building activities and virtual events.
Provide support for Verifications of Employment requests.
Provide back-up support for various approval processes.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent experience. A Master’s Degree or PHR/SPHR designation are a strong plus.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years as an HR professional. Must have prior experience in providing HR Generalist support.
Experience with softwares and systems is required, specific platform tool experience is a strong plus.
Self-directed with the ability to keep up with a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proven track record of creating and implementing successful processes.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization, ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Strong knowledge of employment law and best practices or proven ability to research and find answers, reach logical conclusions, and apply to clients’ situation.
The successful candidate will be well-organized, professional and discreet, with an energetic and accessible personality.
Ability to complete tasks effectively with little supervision.
Excellent time-management and ability to prioritize changing tasks with a sense of urgency necessary to meet objectives and deadlines.
Ability to adjust to new conditions, and tasks.
