Startup CFO — San Francisco / Silicon Valley
The Countsy Startup CFO is viewed by clients as having the competence, experience and leadership qualities to fulfill “C” level roles for clients. The CFO is a trusted advisor and business partner to clients and has the ability to be an active participant of their client’s Executive Management Team. (S)he efficiently and effectively manages competing priorities of service delivery, while focusing on quality, for multiple clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Delivery
Effectively communicate with client and Countsy Growth Lead/Founder (if/when needed) to understand and document priorities and work status
Effectively communicate project objectives and status to team members
Develop a thorough understanding of the client's business and culture to better support the client's strategic objectives
Demonstrate commitment to client success. Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope, tool and skill sets required
Develop, document and execute work plan/project plan while meeting agreed upon deadlines and commitments
Manage day-to-day project activities
Prepare, delegate if appropriate, and review client deliverables.
Work effectively with client personnel and be positive and respectful in all client interactions
Seek and communicate ways to improve client satisfaction
Support client and project team with timely response to information requests
Take ownership of work and follow tasks through to completion
Leverage client and Countsy subject matter experts (SME) to execute the project effectively
Use, administer and promote company practices, standards, procedures, tools and methodologies
Complete a knowledge transfer to appropriate person at appropriate time in the project
Supervise project teams (multiple clients at times)
Provide appropriate training to client or Countsy staff
Build consensus with client management
Provide strategic leadership to the client and project team members
Act as primary on-site liaison between Countsy and all levels of client management
Evaluate the overall project success in meeting client's objectives
Provide quality assurance for projects
Lead solution identification and implementation efforts
Provide thought leadership and direction
Internal Responsibilities
Effectively interact with and support other Countsy consultants, management and internal staff
Perform all necessary administrative responsibilities in a timely manner (e.g. Timesheet and expense report submission, response to e-mail and voice-mail, forecasting of upcoming availability)
Proactively communicate status of work to Countsy direct Manager on the engagement
Update LinkedIn profile as new skills and experiences are acquired
Perform internal duties, as requested
Comply with Countsy policies and procedures
Contribute to achievement of Countsy' goals and objectives
Maintain practice specific active professional certification status
Escalate HR issues and employee relations concerns to HR/management
As the face of the firm appropriately represent Countsy in all interactions and communications with clients, prospective clients and the business community at large
Staff Development:
Participate in technical interviews of candidates, as requested
Be a buddy to a new hire or new project member
Act as a career development advisor, as requested
Assist, coach, train and manage lower level consultants, as required
Monitor performance of lower level consultants, advise them and communicate observations and recommendations to appropriate manager
Provide project level performance evaluations for lower level consultants, as required
Develop and conduct specific training as requested by Countsy management
Practice Development
Develop and present practice area specific training as requested by Countsy management
Propose new delivery tools and methodologies to Countsy management
Keep abreast of new trends and developments in practice area to provide competitive service offerings to clients
Business Development
Acquire and share knowledge of current Countsy offerings with clients and networks
Proactively identify and communicate leads to Countsy leadership
Build and expand positive client relationships and identify new opportunities
Actively participate in networking on behalf of Countsy
Actively participate in sales activities and assist in proposal development, as requested
Leverage one's network to actively generate new business leads to Countsy
Develop long-term relationships with client management
Coach and mentor others to find and nurture business development opportunities

Education/Experience/Certification
Bachelors degree or equivalent degree, Masters degree preferred
15+ years experience with progressive responsibility in accounting and finance
Practice specific professional certification preferred
7+ years of consulting experience preferred
5+ years of experience managing a team required
Leadership experience in multiple industries and practices that align with local industry verticals that Countsy serves, preferred
7+ years of experience in leading a team of professionals in the achievement of rigorous profit and revenue objectives over an extended period, preferred
Compensation and Benefits Information
Base Pay Range: $190,000 - $200,000
Other Compensation: Discretionary Bonus Plan
All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
Benefits: Medical (including FSA and HSA offerings), Dental, Vision, Life insurance, Disability insurance, 401(k) savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase plan, Paid Time Off: 23 days, Eight Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).

Washington Time Off and Leave
Management and Support Roles : Employees working in the state of Washington will receive the following time off and leave benefits:*
Short-Term Disability Benefits: RGP provides eligible employees up to 12 weeks of paid leave for total and temporary disability due to illness or injury.
Maternity Leave: For pregnancy and childbirth, female employees may receive up to 8 weeks (40 days) of paid Maternity Leave.**
Parental Leave: RGP provides 2 weeks (10 days) of paid Parental Leave for the birth or adoption of a child.**
Bereavement: Up to 3 days of paid leave (additional time may be available under PFML)
Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML): The state-administered PFML fund provides qualified employees with the following maximum leave amounts per calendar year: (a) up to 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave, (b) up to 16 weeks of leave when family and medical leave are used in combination, and (c) an additional two weeks of leave due to pregnancy complications, (d) up to 7 days bereavement leave.
Jury Duty Leave: Up to 5 paid days
Military Leave: Up to 21 days of paid leave during a one-year period.
